Back home in Kansas!

It was a fast Christmas run to Kansas but I managed to get three sessions in. You should have seen me trying to get all my stuff on the airplane. Bout poked some guy in the bum with my umbrella....at least the stewardess found it funny! It's taking me a while to get them all edited between my dog and my car breaking down......but it's coming! Here are the O'Brien's in Paola!

So this is Lynsey (look right) and she's fabulous....and makes fabulous jewelry......and has fabulous eyes. Anyhow, we shot some of the necklaces that she's made. I posted the link to her website so far under the pics. And these are a few of what we came up with.

On another note, everyone should go read Chelsea Handler's book "Are you there Vodka, it's me Chelsea?" Well.....maybe not everyone. Actually you should only read it if you have a twisted sense of humor and are not easily offended (that's me). But on a serious note you should really read "The Shack." It's one of the best books I've ever read...no lie.

Christmas Card Time with the Wombles!

I spent Thanksgiving with my lovely friend Jessica and on our trip to get tupperware we ended up driving around in circles looking at trees (we are easily entertained)! So here's me wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving!

So if the day comes when you seriously can't get ahold of me....go ahead and assume that I've officially crossed the border and probably won't be back!! Just kidding, but there's a seriously good chance that a sabatical is in order; complete with margaritas, a swimsuit, and a hammock. My family and I had such a great time in Mexico this last week....I can't think of anyone else I'd rather hangout with any other place in this world!!! Now if I could only brush up on my Spanish!!

So.....it's time for Christmas cards! Don't worry I've already done my shoot with my new dog Charlie (sad, I know....one of these years I'm gonna get too old to send out Christmas cards with just me and my dog ;-p) The Reese's braved the painful process of dressing alike and getting together in one place to do family pictures (just joking!!) ...and this is what we came up with!!!

So.....my favorite book of all time is called "Eat, Love, Pray" by Elizabeth Gilbert. Everyone close to me can attest to this fact as I have bought and forced them to read it also (I even highlighted my favorite passages for their viewing pleasure :-p). It's one of those books where it actually sounds like your best friend is reading it to you (not gonna lie, I can hear Mandi's voice). So I started rereading it, yes rereading it, and realized that I missed my favorite line the first time...she says, "I do a lot with guilt...like a lot of women do a lot with beige." And then I saw this quote last night from a card that just made me smile:
Fall in love or fall in hate.
Get inspired or be depressed.
Ace a test or flunk a class.
Make babies or make art.
Speak the truth or lie and cheat.

So....the point of my post, is that there isn't much of a point but I'm trying my best to forgive myself, see all that is beautiful, and enjoy this terribly beautiful disaster!
